The intelligence behind KSIRI

A deep dive into the architecture that makes KSIRI fast, private, and future-ready — built around an intelligent Gateway.

Local-First Architecture

Your home shouldn't stop when the internet does

KSIRI inverts the typical smart-home model. Instead of routing everything through the cloud, the Gateway keeps intelligence, data, and control inside your walls.

Gateway as Source of Truth

All state, history, and logic live on the Gateway inside your home — never on someone else's server.

Local Automation

Triggers and actions execute locally in milliseconds, with no cloud round-trip.

Offline Operation

The internet is optional. Your lights, climate, and scenes keep working when it drops.

Cloud-first
  • Internet required
  • Higher latency
  • Data leaves home
  • Vendor lock-in
KSIRI Local-first
  • Works offline
  • <50ms response
  • Data stays home
  • You stay in control
Inside the Gateway

One device, a complete operating system

The KSIRI Gateway runs a purpose-built stack where every module is optimized for speed, privacy, and reliability — no cloud required.

SQLite

Local time-series & configuration store — the single source of truth.

Event Bus

High-speed internal messaging that wires every service together.

Automation Engine

Evaluates triggers, conditions & actions entirely on-device.

AI Engine

Architecture designed to support future edge intelligence.

Local MQTT

Real-time, low-latency device communication inside your network.

Cloud MQTT

Optional, encrypted sync for remote access and notifications.

Major Gateway Feature
Local Voice Control

Your voice stays local.

Control your KSIRI home using natural voice commands processed directly by the Gateway. Supported commands are understood and executed locally without depending on a third-party voice cloud.

Gateway Voice Capture

Voice input is captured directly by the Gateway or local client with zero cloud streaming.

Entity Resolution

Natural speech maps to exact device IDs, relays, and scenes using Gateway entity resolution.

Command & Scene Service

Commands route directly into KSIRI CommandService and SceneExecutionService — identical to app clicks.

Physical Dispatch

Instant physical relay toggle, curtain motor motion, or fan regulation without internet dependency.

Authoritative Control Path: Voice uses the exact same entity resolution, CommandService, and SceneExecutionService as physical switches and mobile app interactions.

Supported Local Commands

Physical testing has demonstrated resolved and dispatched local commands across relays, switches, curtain controllers, fan speed regulators, dimmers, and scene triggers.

Explore in Mobile App: Open Settings → Local Voice → All Commands in the KSIRI app to view full supported command syntax and examples.

Core Specification
Positioned inside the Gateway execution architecture to guarantee local resilience, authoritative state control, and defense-in-depth isolation.
Multi-Protocol Architecture

One Gateway. Multiple Protocols. One Platform.

Stop buying separate hubs for multiple protocols. The KSIRI Gateway is designed to bridge the protocols that power modern connected spaces — through a single device with an extensible driver architecture.

Scenes, Rules & Routines

Next-generation local automation engine.

The Gateway runs a local event subscription bus and automation scheduler, evaluating complex logic directly on-device with zero cloud latency.

Manually Executable Actions

Scenes

Pre-configured multi-device actions triggered on demand from the app, smart switches, or local voice.

Condition-Driven Automations

Rules

Evaluates continuous system states, environmental conditions, and sensor thresholds to maintain target environments.

Trigger-Driven Automations

Routines

Fires instantly on state-transition events, button gestures, or scheduled time triggers via the Gateway scheduler.

Gateway Automation Engine Capabilities

Built upon event subscriptions and Gateway-side local scheduling, supported capabilities include:

State-Transition Triggers

Reacts immediately when device properties change state (e.g. Motion OFF → ON).

Numeric Thresholds & Hysteresis

Evaluates lux, temperature, or humidity bounds without rapid flip-flopping.

Button Gestures

Single tap, double tap, and long press actions registered from physical wall switches.

Scheduled Execution

Precision cron and time-of-day timers managed by the Gateway local scheduler.

Conditions & Filters

Guards execution based on time windows, presence, or current operational modes.

Device Actions & Scene Invocation

Dispatches commands directly to switches, dimmers, curtains, or nested scenes.

Cooldown & Concurrency Controls

Prevents duplicate trigger spamming and manages multi-task execution safety.

Execution History & Timeline

Logs trigger events, evaluated conditions, and action outcomes locally in SQLite.

Firmware Lifecycle

Managed Gateway OTA Infrastructure

Versioned firmware repository, validation/checksum controls, Gateway-controlled OTA deployment and device OTA status tracking.

Versioned Repository

Centralized firmware store

Validation & Checksums

Integrity verification before deployment

Gateway-Controlled OTA

Local deployment to target devices

Device Status Tracking

Real-time update progress & verification

Smart Automation Suggestions

Local pattern detection that recommends automations.

KSIRI can observe recurring automation-relevant behavior locally, identify useful patterns and prepare automation suggestions for the user to review and approve.

Privacy-Preserving Pattern Engine

Human-in-the-Loop Automation

Unlike opaque cloud ML, KSIRI Suggestions run locally on the Gateway. All suggestions require explicit user approval before becoming active routines.
